Design & conception :
The design of this snaffle has been primarily thought out to meet the anatomical needs of the horse, while seeking to reflect the dynamics of the animal in its movement and action. As a result, you'll find taut, slender lines underlined by contrasting white stitching. This very first version of the 900 anatomical bridle is presented in light brown leather with navy and dark brown lining in the same color.
Anatomically designed headrest with bridge :
The nape of the neck is generally an area subject to pressure, which can come from the bridle's headpiece, but also from the rider's hand contact reflected on the snaffle uprights hooked to the headpiece. To avoid this, we've designed a headband that frees up the occipital region and cervical vertebrae, thanks to a bridge design topped by two soft foam pads on either side of the neck.
Anatomical head and forehead design:
The lower part of the headpiece is pre-shaped to free up the back of the ears, which are highly innervated and therefore have a major impact on the relaxation of the horse's mouth. In the same vein, we've designed a browband with a fine, high hook on the lower part of the headpiece to avoid pressure on the nerve endings above the rock and on the temple.
Anatomical design :
The two uprights of the snaffle and noseband are attached by a lateral loop which distributes the pressure exerted by hand contact between the bit, the nape and the noseband, rather than just between the bit and the nape.
Anatomical noseband design:
The rear of the noseband is fitted with two D-shaped rings, allowing the wide, foamed noseband pad to be positioned correctly according to the horse's morphology.
Trough design :
Instead of an ordinary throat latch, we've designed a throat latch that adjusts the position of the snaffle and noseband to your horse's head. It requires a slight tightening and helps to keep the bit and snaffle posts away from your horse's eyes.
Reduces irritation:
The areas most subject to pressure are lined with soft foam padding to enhance the horse's comfort. You'll find this fine padding on the headpiece (with particular attention paid to the nape of the neck), on the front and back of the noseband and on the browband. All buckles subject to pressure are also padded to minimize chafing.
Combo reins :
This bridle is sold without reins. You'll find 900 grip reins, specially developed for this bridle, in our stores or on the Internet. These reins have the same small details, finishes and, of course, the same leather color.
Tailor :
The 900 net is available in two sizes: Cob(CS) and Horse(FS). The CS size is suitable for small-headed horses and D ponies with broad, long heads. The FS size is suitable for most riding horses. Thanks to its numerous adjustment possibilities, its size is rather wide, making it suitable for medium-sized and large horses.
How to check that your bridle fits?
A few simple gestures are all you need to check the adjustment of your thread. You can pass 1 finger between the chamfer and the browband to check that it's not pressing too hard on the nerve zones detailed above. You can then pass 1 finger between the headpiece and the back of the ears to check that it's not pressing too hard on the auricular area. For the first few uses, check that no irritation appears on your horse's head.
A well-tuned noseband:
Adjusting the noseband has a major impact on your horse's relaxation. We recommend that you pass one finger between the muzzle and the noseband and 2 fingers between the noseband and the apophysis. If you have any doubts about the fit, don't hesitate to ask a professional for advice.
Care instructions :
To preserve your netting, we recommend regular care with glycerine soap applied to a sponge dampened with lukewarm water. You can then moisturize your leather with grease applied to a household or special leather cloth. If you feel that your leathers are dry, you can complete this maintenance with moisturizing milk, which will deeply nourish your leather.
