First-time use
Before first use, rinse the bottle, cap and filter with drinking water (3 times for 1 minute).
On first use or whenever the filter is dry, fill the bottle with water, screw on the cap and leave for a few minutes to prime the filter. Then take 5 quick sips to allow the water to drain.
Directions for use
Rinse your water bottle & filter with drinking water to remove dust and dirt.
Fill the water bottle with fresh water (avoid stagnant, stagnant water) from the best available source, without dirtying the nipple and cap. The clearer and cleaner the water introduced before filtration (absence of impurities), the longer your filter will last.
Be careful not to ingest water that runs down your bottle while drinking.
Instructions for use (continued)
Make sure the bottle and filter are hermetically sealed.
Your filter no longer allows water to pass through when it has reached the end of its service life.
If you are unable to draw in water, it is time to replace the part containing the filter.
Dry your filter thoroughly after use.
Filtration system
We have chosen a microfiltration technology with a membrane (hollow fiber) that eliminates up to 99.9999% of bacteria (e.g. Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae etc.) as well as 99.9% of protozoan parasite cysts (e.g. Cryptosporidium parvum, Giardia lamblia), organisms that cause water-borne pathologies. This considerably reduces the risk of contracting diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery or giardiasis.
Maintenance tips
After each use, unscrew the cap, rinse the bottle, cap and filter with drinking water and allow to dry thoroughly. Before placing the bottle in the dishwasher for cleaning, remove the filter.
The filter must never be put in the dishwasher. Do not attempt to clean the fibers in the plastic casing. If in doubt, replace the filter.
Storage tips
Store in a cool, clean, dry place after drying completely.
If you find that water no longer passes through the filter, or only with great difficulty, please follow these instructions.
Immerse the filter in clean, clear water for around 15 minutes to dissolve any dirt that may have adhered to the surface of the filter membrane. Then rinse the filter and leave it to dry.
It should now be back to full performance.
Warning
Consumption of untreated water and inappropriate use may expose you to harmful micro-organisms and increase the risk of gastro-intestinal disorders. To reduce the risks, follow the safety and use instructions and find out about water safety in remote areas.
Never use to filter seawater or chemically contaminated water.
Viruses are not filtered by this hollow-fiber filter.
Do not drop.
