TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Program and practice area

The Rhythm's forgiving flex makes it easy to get from the piste to the park, whatever the conditions and whatever your level.

Stance, binding spacing

The stance is the distance between the 2 bindings, measured in cm. It can be adapted to your own morphology, but all snowboards have a recommended position for the bindings (recommanded stance, materialized by a mark between the binding inserts). If you feel the need to move your feet further apart or closer together on the board, do the test to see if you're actually better off.

How can I vary the distance between my feet on the board?

For on-track and off-track boards:
If you wish to tighten the feet, it's best to move the front binding back only. Conversely, if you want to spread your feet, it's better to move the rear binding back. The aim is to be a little further back to make better turns on piste and float more in powder.
For freestyle boards (symmetrical):
It's best to move the 2 bindings to stay centered on the board.

What angles should I put on my snowboard bindings?

For a piste-freeride program, we recommend +18° at the front and 0° at the rear. For all-round freestyle use, we recommend +18° and -6°. The rear foot opening allows you to switch. For pure freestyle use, don't hesitate to choose completely symmetrical angles +15° and -15°, for example.
The choice of angles on bindings is very personal. Don't hesitate to see what others are doing and give it a try. You may be in for a pleasant surprise!

Don't forget to center your boot on your board!

Disc bindings with 4 screws can slide along an axis and generally have 5 possible positions. This adjustment is used to center the boot on the snowboard and prevent the foot from protruding too far (otherwise you're bound to fall!). You need to ensure that your boot protrudes equally on both sides of the board. You can also rotate the disc by 90° to add more or less stance than provided by the inserts. In this case, you lose the ability to center the board laterally.

What size should I choose for my snowboard bindings?

For Rhythm bindings, Salomon recommends:
M: 39 to 43.5
L: 43 to 47
But as you try on a boot with your own foot, we strongly recommend that you try on the bindings with your snowboard boots, because depending on the brand, the same boot size may have a different volume.
