Our foil, to satisfy your flying desires
Our aim was to enable you to enjoy your favourite spots in as many wind conditions as possible, and all with just one foil.
We designed a versatile foil:
- with good lift at low speeds: it will enable you to sail in light winds, while maintaining a gradual take-off.
- it remains balanced in stronger winds, to maintain control in more muscular conditions.
Two advantages: scalable and adaptable
- Compatible with the entire TAAROA range: you can adapt and upgrade your foil as you wish, from the front wing to the stabilizer, mast and fuselage, everything is interchangeable!
- The foil benefits from the standard double US box (system for attaching the foil to the board), making it compatible with most boards on the market.
For which level? What kind of practice?
Designed for the autonomous sailor, our foil is acclaimed for its glide: it will allow you to fly in light winds and make manoeuvres easier.
- It can also be suitable for beginners: tolerant, you will be able to fly easily and the foil will accompany you throughout your progress.
After-sales service and durability
- In the event of breakage or loss, you can find each foil component on our website (front wing, stabilizer, fuselage, plate, mast, fuselage adapter and screws).
- In the fuselage, the screws are held in stainless steel thread inserts (i.e. they are not fixed to the material) and are therefore interchangeable in the event of breakage or thread deterioration.
Front wing 1/3
- Versatile, the wing has very good lift and works in as many wind conditions as possible. Pumping is efficient and glide is maximized.
- The foil ratio (extended) allows you to continue gliding even when changing tack, making maneuvers easier.
- Slightly pronounced delta to find the best balance between glide and maneuverability.
Front wing 2/3
- Design: different thicknesses of fiberglass (bi-directional and unidirectional) to optimize the foil's rigidity and sturdiness.
- The foil is assembled using Taaroa's universal system: 3 off-center M8 screws for perfect hold - a guarantee of resistance over time - easy assembly and disassembly.
- Rounded tip finish: limits the risk of injury (in the event of contact with the foil) and the risk of tearing (if contact is made with the sail).
The 3/3 front wing
DIMENSIONS
1200 cm²
Wingspan: 870 mm
Rope: 171 mm
Weight: 1100 g / (Foil complete without cover: 4.8 Kg) (+/- 10%)
1500 cm²
Wingspan: 970 mm
Rope: 187 mm
Weight : 1200 g / (Complete foil without cover: 4.9 Kg) (+/- 10%)
1900 cm²
Span: 1070 mm
Rope: 209 mm
Weight: 1500 g / (Complete foil without cover: 5.2 Kg) (+/- 10%)
The stabilizer
- High-ratio (very long) but low-delta stabilizer with homogeneous dihedral (single bend) to enhance glide without compromising manoeuvrability.
- Finished with rounded tips here too.
DIMENSIONS
300 cm²
Wingspan: 468 mm
String: 77 mm
Weight: 290 g (+/- 10%)
- Binding that rests on a concave area of the fuselage: you can, if you wish, adjust the inclination to regulate the foil's power.
Stabilizer tips
- In the centered position, the foil is balanced for 50/50 support under the 2 feet.
- If you move the stab' forward, the support under the front foot is reduced and the foil will be less powerful: this is great when there's a lot of wind or for beginners - it makes for a smoother take-off.
- If you move the stab' back, the foil's power and the support under the front foot is increased, which is interesting for experienced riders wanting a good nose-up effect for light winds or jumps.
Mat
Mat, 80 cm:
- Excellent compromise for maximum versatility (Wing / Kite / Surf).
- Rigid for direct and precise feedback (reactivity) between your stance and the foil, giving you better control.
- Hydrodynamic mast profile to generate as little drag as possible and ensure good glide quality.
Fuselage
Fuselage, 62 cm:
- Hardened, machined and anodized 6061 aluminum for maximum strength.
- Replaceable stainless steel thread inserts insulated with insulating grease between the materials to reduce the risk of corrosion.
- Matt / tapered fuselage assembly so there's never any play in your foil.
The turntable
- In hardened 6061 aluminum, machined and anodized for maximum strength.
- "Open" screw recesses for easy foil installation: no need to unscrew the screws completely to insert them into the plate (real time-saver when preparing the equipment, and less risk of loss as the screws are not completely disconnected from the board).
- Rubberized surface under the plate, to preserve the board's hull.
How to choose the right foil (size in cm²)
1200 cm²: for users under 65 kg or experienced riders looking for a more playful wing for stronger winds.
1500 cm²: for users from 65 to 85 kg. Suitable for light beginners and larger riders looking for a more sporty wing. This is the most versatile wing in our range.
1900 cm²: for users over 85 kg. This is the most powerful wing in the range, enabling you to fly at very low speeds.
The foil is supplied with
- Each element of the foil: front wing, stabilizer, plate, mast, fuselage and its adapter.
- Its screws: two M6 screws for the stabilizer, eleven M8 screws for the rest of the elements.
- Tools: M6 wrench and M8 wrench are supplied.
- Additional screws in case of loss: two M8 screws and one M6.
- Its carrying bag.
Easy to transport and assemble
- Carry bag: a real carry bag with a shoulder strap, making it easy to transport your gear from the car to the spot.
- Very good protection for your foil with thick foam reinforcements.
- Top opening for optimized and clever storage.
- Center mark on the turntable (saves time and precision when setting up).
