A shape with flapping wings that floats in the air and is powered by the wind.
Our new 920 shape is based on our 900 velvet shape, to which we've added a tail and flapping wings. To this, we add 2 metal stakes that sink into the ground, to which 6 strands are added to make the shape float in the air. The whole thing simulates a bird flying to the pose: as soon as even a light breeze blows, the spade at the end of the rod activates and creates movement.
A 3-in-1 set: we tell you why
You can use this form in 3 ways:
-option 1: the blette is driven into the ground using the included 26.5cm plastic rod
-option 2: the blette is driven into the ground using the 59.5cm double metal stake (the 26.5cm plastic rod fits into the metal stake): higher off the ground than option 1 and with movement.
-option 3: the pole is set into the ground thanks to the double metal post, which also accommodates the 6 unfolded hoops that fit directly into the shape.
Wings and tail: a specific design to increase the efficiency of the shape
The velvet finish of this chard 920 offers a more natural look while reducing shine in the sun. What's more, when designing the wings and tail, we took into account the importance of the white color on the plumage, as this is a key element in increasing the realism of the chard. As are the different shades of gray, black and blue. Our designers have also focused on the contours of the lines to guarantee a realistic effect.
In practical terms, how do these wings work in the wind?
The wings are positioned on the sides of the shape by means of two springs on each side. This feature increases the sensitivity of the wings to the wind. Even in a light breeze, the wings move, making it possible to imitate flight for longer. The component used for this is EVA foam. Why do we use it? Because it's a fairly flexible material, and resists abrasion well. Finally, the thickness of the wings and tail (2.5mm) offers the best compromise between weight and movement.
Several color tests are necessary to arrive at a very real shape
When hunting wood pigeons by air, it's vital that the harness is as realistic as possible. The velvet treatment used on this model limits the shine caused by the sun's rays as much as possible, and brings out the different shades of color. After extensive field testing, we're convinced that this shape will enhance the realism of your hitch.
A bag for transporting and storing your shape and accessories
When you leave for the post, often on foot, you're loaded down with accessories: rifle, carriage, chaff... It's not uncommon in woodpigeon hunting to carry 15 forms, 20 forms, 30 forms, even more. That's why we've worked on a carry bag that makes it easy to store the 920 shape. This bag, which opens and closes via a flap and 2 Velcro fasteners, is designed with 3 compartments to store the chard, wings and tail, metal stakes and 6 strands.
Versatility
On the top of our 520 pigeon form with flapping wings, we've kept the 2 holes present on the 500 and 900 velvet forms: so you can always choose between 2 positions thanks to the integrated stem. The rod fits neatly under the form (no need to carry the parts separately and risk losing the rod).
How to place shapes on the floor?
When hunting wood pigeons by air, it's vital that the ground set-up is as massive, complete and realistic as possible to fool the goshawks. Thanks to the realism and movement of this shape, the package formed (to be placed beak to windward in particular) maximizes your chances of attracting them. The paint used imitates the bird's colors as closely as possible, and is also resistant to damage from sunlight, rain, sand and rubbing.
Increase your chances of attracting goshawks with these tips
To further enhance the realism of your hitch, we recommend you complete it with our 100 hulls, 500 3D shapes, 520 shapes with flapping wings, and 900 velvet shapes facing into the wind. Wear camo clothing and don't neglect your carriage! Take a look at our shield mount. Thanks to these tips, you'll be able to spot woodpigeons in the distance, slow down, glide, and come down to pose.
