Our advice Fouganza : the impact of the strap
The horse's comfort with the girth has an impact on its amplitude, movement and therefore its performance when riding. The passage of the girth is sensitive, and irritation can sometimes occur. We strongly advise you to check that your equipment doesn't hurt, before and after use, especially when saddling and unsaddling.
Our advice Fouganza : sensitivity to strap movement
A girth injury may be due to skin sensitivity, but also to poorly maintained equipment or equipment not adapted to the horse's morphology. It is therefore important to check that the girth remains smooth and free of abrasive build-up. Regular girth maintenance (with glycerine soap, grease or other) helps prevent the accumulation of dirt and stiffness that can sometimes injure the horse.
Our advice Fouganza : the right strap
The shape of the girth has a major impact on the horse's comfort. An ill-fitting girth increases pressure on the horse's thorax and elbow. To limit this, we recommend checking the space between your girth and your horse's elbows. This ensures good mobility of the horse's forelegs and reduces pressure peaks. At standstill, it is advisable to be able to pass a flat hand between the tip of the elbow and the girth.
