WHY IS THE GLOVE IMPORTANT IN BILLIARDS?
The billiard glove enables you to achieve a linear, fluid and continuous movement when aiming. Far from being a detail or a simple comfort bonus, a billiard glove really does improve your accuracy.
As your game progresses, your hands may become sweaty, which tends to impede the arrow's glide. The whole point of a glove, therefore, is to ensure that your gesture remains fluid throughout your game, even when you're sweating.
AN ACCESSORY FOR EVERYONE?
At first glance, the billiard glove may seem like an accessory reserved for high-level players and perfectionists. In fact, it's precisely when you're just starting out that they can prove to be an invaluable ally.
Wearing a glove allows you to concentrate on the correct positioning of your fingers and your aim, without worrying about the fluidity of your glide, and helps you adapt to different playing conditions.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR GLOVE
The billiard glove is worn only on your front hand, the one that forms the bridge. The first step is to check that the shape of the glove is right for your right or left hand, depending on your predominance.
There are models with different shapes, fastening systems and fabrics. Of course, the most important thing is to find a glove with which you feel comfortable, both for making your bridge and for absorbing perspiration.
Why elastane and polyester?
Elastane accentuates the glove's elasticity, so that the textile is close to the glove for better dexterity. Your Geologic glove won't interfere with your shooting movements.
Polyester is anti-transpirant, keeping your hands dry and ensuring perfect glide throughout the game for even greater precision.
A word of advice from our billiards team:
Billiards is all about precision... and therefore position. Take your time to find a position where you're both stable and comfortable.
And in American billiards, the table is smaller than in snooker, for example. So don't hesitate to sit up from time to time to see the game. And adopt a stable, comfortable position :)
