Why wear this knee brace?
Knee braces can be worn to facilitate the return to sport after a mild sprain (stretching without tearing), or in cases of ligament instability, chronic instability or apprehension.
They limit the anterior drawer effect observed in cases of knee ligament fragility. Its locked knit provides effective knee support without the need for elastic straps, which generally create discomfort in the popliteal fossa.
What is a sprain?
A knee sprain involves the stretching or rupture of one or more ligaments in the knee: the medial collateral ligament (MCL), the lateral collateral ligament (MCL), the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
A sprain is mild when the ligaments have been stretched. Moderate sprains involve partial rupture of one or more ligaments. Severe sprains correspond to a complete rupture of one of the ligaments.
What size knee brace should I choose?
Measure your leg circumference, 8 cm above the center of the kneecap. Then match the measured value with the following size chart:
Size 1: 36 - 39 cm
Size 2: 39 - 43 cm
Size 3: 43 - 47 cm
Size 4: 47 - 51 cm
Why protect your knees?
The knee is an important joint, and one that is subject to a great deal of stress during sporting activities. They act as shock absorbers and stabilizers, and must withstand considerable stress, particularly when running, jumping, landing and changing direction. Falling on skis is also particularly dangerous for the knees.
