First installation after your purchase
The airbag you have just purchased IS NOT ACTIVATED and requires a major action on your part to make it operational.
You need to "arm" the airbag in the same way as for changing the cartridge and attaching the leash.
You will find all the information you need at the bottom of this page in the "Site Support (FAQ, instructions...)" section to help you
The explanations are detailed in the instructions and in the explanatory video below.
Choice of size
Please refer to the chart in the product images.
You must take into account the following 2 measurements: chest circumference and back length (also see instructions). If you find yourself with one measurement in one size and the other in another size, we recommend that you take the largest size indicated for your product
example: your chest circumference indicates size M and your back length indicates size L, we recommend that you take size L.
Standard and release speed
CE CERTIFICATION - The Air Bag vest has been tested by the CRITT laboratory and certified by Alienor Certification (an organization that certifies protective equipment).
Airbags are classified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Complies with standard: NF S72-800:2022 (the only standard developed for equestrian airbags)
The average release speed is 217 milliseconds for all adult sizes.
Adjustment:
The air bag should always be worn over the rest of your riding gear. If you wear clothing over it, it may prevent the airbag from opening, slowing down the inflation time, and you risk over-compression by inflating the vest when you fall. Don't wear an airbag vest with a waistband
Airbag installation and operation
The airbag is attached to the saddle at the stirrup blades using the "saddle strap", which is connected to the airbag by a leash with carabiner (called the "connection strap").
In the event of a fall or sudden, severe tension on the leash, it will detach from the vest, causing the vest to inflate. You will then need to replace only the cartridge with a new one and reassemble the system to "re-arm" it
All explanations are detailed in the instructions.
Using compatible cartridges and accessories for Gilet :
The airbag vest is sold with a gas cartridge, which must be replaced each time it is triggered. The cartridge for adult airbags must be 85 cc (ref5157952)
The use of any other brand of cartridge voids all manufacturer's warranties and responsibilities. The same applies to the accessories required for proper operation of the vest (saddle strap and leash with carabiner (known as the "connection strap")). All parts are available for after-sales service on our website
How to change your cartridge
All the explanations are detailed in the instructions and here is the link to the explanatory video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pPtafoYGsY
Transport:
Warning: an air bag vest must not be folded or exposed to extreme heat (car beach not recommended).
Competition rules :
In CCE, the Air Bag can only be worn in official competition as a complement to a rigid protective vest complying with current standards, currently CE EN 13158:2009 BETA level 3.
