The drawcord inserted in the seam at the bottom of the vest is invisible and allows the product to be tightened against the waist to prevent the wind from passing through. Adjustment is made on the right-hand side.
Zip-pulls on the pockets make for quick and easy opening.
The 3 outside pockets close with zips, while the 2 inside pockets have no fastening system.
What is a Softshell component?
The softshell component is a highly technical fabric combining 3 materials: a breathable, windproof membrane sandwiched between a water-repellent fabric on the outside and a comfortable, warm fleece on the inside. The properties of this highly technical material bring you thermal comfort, breathability, lightness and ease of movement.
What is component water repellency?
The water repellency of your softshell 500 for men is achieved by a treatment applied to the outside of the fabric. This treatment allows water to slide off the surface of the fabric, without absorbing it. As a result, the component doesn't become waterlogged, and remains lightweight. This treatment must be repeated several times during the product's lifetime. Products for this purpose are available in our stores.
What is a product's breathability and the RET index that measures it?
The breathability of your men's softshell 500 corresponds to its capacity to allow perspiration generated by the body to escape. It is measured using the Evaporative Transfer Resistance (ISO 11092 standard) and has a RET = 6. RET is a resistance index: the lower it is, the more breathable your fabric is. RET between 6 and 9: extremely breathable, between 10 and 13: very breathable, between 14 and 17: breathable, between 18 and 20: not very breathable, above 20: not breathable.
What is the clo index?
The clo is the scale used to measure the thermal resistance of your men's softshell 500. During the test, the component of your technical garment is exposed to a temperature close to that of the body and a controlled outside temperature. The clo index reflects the ability of your men's softshell 500 to retain body heat inside the garment. The higher the clo index, the better the technical component will retain the heat emitted by your body.
How important is a windproof product?
It's very important to be protected from the wind, whether you're working or resting, because it cools the body enormously. According to the 'Windchill' model, which measures the temperature felt under the influence of wind and cold: for a temperature of 5°C, combined with a 30km/h wind, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and the wind speed is 30km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The components in our products counteract the effect of wind.
