Vest type (Stab / BCD)
The SCD 500 diving stabilizer vest (stab/BCD) from SUBEA is a "wrap-around" type: the volume of air is distributed over the entire wrapped surface of the body, providing high buoyancy and better support in the vertical position. In particular, this provides greater comfort during surface phases.
The SCD 500 vest is comfortable by design, and its fit is optimized with a harness featuring a wide ventral strap, a chest strap and patented shoulder straps.
A mixed stabilizer vest with patented V-shaped straps: the Rgomoove concept
The exclusive shape of the shoulder straps frees the arms while providing better support. The shape of the straps also prevents compression of the chest, making this vest suitable for both men and women. The shape and size of the buckles on the straps make them easy and precise to adjust. For easy adjustment, we recommend pulling the straps from the shoulders towards the hips (the direction of the strap), not downwards.
Ease of use
The purge pulls have been moved forward (at chest level for the high purge and at belly level under the right pocket for the low purge). Their shape and the choice of metallic grey color also make them easier to grip (for the diver or the buddy).
The openings of the two side pockets have been lowered for easier access.
Two loops have also been provided for a pressure gauge or octopus, so you'll always have them close at hand.
Carrying comfort
For added comfort, SUBEA 's design teams have developed reinforced back padding on the back of the stabilizer vests, providing cushioning at the bottle location. The shoulder straps are also reinforced for greater shoulder flexibility. The ventral strap is designed with elastic zones for a perfect fit on the back and hips.
Accessories to keep everything secure and tidy!
5 carrying rings: 1 anodized 3D ring on each shoulder, 2 anodized 3D rings on the hips and 1 PVC ring inside the pocket.
2 drop-weight pockets, each with a capacity of 3 kg.
The chest strap has an integrated whistle for signaling on the surface.
Two loops are also provided for a manometer or octopus, so you'll always have them close at hand.
Buoyancy

Maintenance tips
1/Rinse your vest thoroughly with clean water. Pay particular attention to the bleed nipples and inflator. 2/Evacuate any water in the vest by operating the lower bleed valve. Do not store water in the vest's inflatable bladder.
3/Dry your vest on a wide hanger out of direct sunlight.
Inspect your vest yourself every year, looking for any signs of wear. Inflate (by mouth) the inflatable chamber, wait 12 hours and check that it hasn't deflated.
Overhaul of stabilizing jackets
Your stabilizing vest should be inspected and serviced by an authorized SUBEA center at least every two years, and more often if you dive frequently.
