YOU'RE A BEGINNER SURFER
You're new to surfing or only surf a few times a year, on vacation or on a surf trip. You stay where you are, in small waves or foam. You practice for the pleasure of being in the water and for the sensations it gives you. During your sessions, you often fall, but you fall in waves that are not very powerful. We've designed a wide range of swimsuits to suit your occasional practice and your morphology.
MORPHOLOGY
The ZOE swimsuit top is a bra shape for the young beginner surfer offering both coverage and clear shoulders for paddling.
It has been designed for beginner surfers who don't need a lot of hold in the wave.
This shape allows the surfer to have completely clear shoulders, which is ideal for paddling.
This model is available from age 7 to 15.
WAVE HOLDING TEST
We design swimsuits whose promise is to hold up in the wave. To evaluate them, we call on a panel of at least 12 surfers of different morphologies to follow a pool test protocol in our design offices in Hendaye. The aim of this protocol is to reproduce the sensations experienced by the surfer when she is tossed by a wave. If the test is conclusive, we head out to sea to test our swimwear in real-life conditions.
GIRL'S SWIMSUIT SIZE
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers with their growth in mind, which is why we systematically associate stature with size, i.e. the child's height, since age alone does not guarantee the right size. In fact, two 10-year-old girls can have totally different heights, measurements, weights and morphologies. We also recommend an in-cabin fitting if possible.
OUR GIRLS SWIMSUIT STATURES
Here's the link between age and stature visible on our swimwear labels:
8/9 years: from 133 to 142 cm
10/11 years: from 143 to 150 cm
12/13 years: from 151 to 160 cm
14/15 years: from 161 to 169 cm
This model is available from size 7/8 years.
DRY CUTTING AND WET CUTTING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, we have to adjust our models when dry, because once in the water, swimwear relaxes. We therefore advise you to choose the right size. The swimsuit must fit snugly on your body in the cabin, so you feel supported. The elastane contained in some of the components used in our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.

The size or model doesn't suit you? Would you like to make an exchange at your local Decathlon store? No problem, just make sure you don't cut the label off the swimsuit in case you want to exchange it.

Based in Hendaye, in the south-west of France, OLAIAN is the new surf and bodyboard brand from Decathlon. In our "feet in the water" offices, we can design a swimsuit in a day, then test it directly in the sea to check how it holds up in the wave.
