YOU'RE A BEGINNER SURFER
You're new to surfing or only surf a few times a year, on vacation or on a surf trip. You stay where you are, in small waves or foam. You practice for the pleasure of being in the water and for the sensations it gives you. During your sessions, you often fall, but you fall in waves that are not very powerful. We've designed a wide range of swimsuits to suit your occasional practice and your morphology.
MORPHOLOGY
The TAMI foulard swimsuit has been designed to reconcile morphological adaptability and hold in the wave. Its neck adjustment allows the surfer to adapt the swimsuit to her chest. The scarf shape provides sufficient coverage to ensure a good hold in the waves.
WAVE HOLDING TEST
We design swimsuits whose promise is to hold up in the wave. To evaluate them, we call on a panel of at least 12 surfers of different morphologies to follow a pool test protocol in our design offices in Hendaye. The aim of this protocol is to reproduce the sensations experienced by the surfer when she is tossed about by a wave. If the test is conclusive, we head out to sea to test our swimwear in real-life conditions.
WHAT IS A HULL?
A shell is a piece of foam that is inserted into the swimsuit.
To leave our customers free to decide whether to keep them on or take them off, our shells are removable.
Only on sizes 12/13 and 14/15
Everyone is free to add this shell, or not.
The sole purpose of these shells is to protect the modesty of teenage girls.
They help to hide the tips of the breasts when the swimsuit is wet.
This is not a shape-amplifying PAD.
GIRL'S SWIMSUIT SIZE
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers with their growth in mind, which is why we systematically associate stature with size, i.e. the child's height, since age alone does not guarantee the right size. In fact, two 10-year-old girls can have totally different heights, measurements, weights and morphologies. We also recommend an in-cabin fitting if possible.

Here's the link between age and stature on our swimwear labels:
8/9 years: from 133 to 142 cm
10/11 years: from 143 to 150 cm
12/13 years: from 151 to 160 cm
14/15 years: from 161 to 169 cm
DRY CUTTING AND WET CUTTING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, we have to adjust our models when dry, because once in the water, swimwear relaxes. We therefore advise you to choose the right size. The swimsuit must fit snugly on your body in the cabin, so you feel supported. The elastane contained in some of the components used in our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.
