TECHNICAL INFORMATION

What's the point of a kimono specially designed for Brazilian jiu-jitsu?

Brazilian jiu-jitsu met emphasizes ground fighting and grappling techniques. It is therefore important to equip yourself with a sturdy, thick kimono to resist seizures.
We have therefore provided an adapted cut to limit the opponent's grip, and double-stitched reinforcements on the knees, shoulders and armpits.
For added strength, the main parts of the kimono have been triple-stitched.
The thick, rigid EVA foam collar makes it harder for the opponent to seize.

Why use a cotton(60%)/Polyester(40%) blend for this Brazilian jiu-jitsu kimono?

The polyester used in our kimono is both stronger and lighter.
In addition, the cotton-polyester combination reduces shrinkage after repeated washing. It also dries faster than 100% cotton.

Which size to choose?

Here's a guide to help you choose your kimono size:
- A0: up to 165 cm and 65 kg
- A1: up to 175 cm and 75 kg
- A2: up to 185 cm and 85 kg
- A3: up to 195 cm and 95 kg
Bear in mind that a JJB kimono tends to shrink during the first 3 washes. It may be wise to opt for a model 5 to 10 cm longer than the jiujitsuka's height.

How do I care for my Brazilian jiu-jitsu kimono?

We recommend that you ventilate your kimono after each use and clean it frequently. Be sure to store it in a dry, well-ventilated place after each use.
For the first few washes, opt for a cold cycle. Thereafter, make sure not to exceed a washing temperature of 30°. Avoid tumble-drying.
Is your kimono a little too big? You can try a wash at 40°C, which will cause a slight shrinkage.

What is Brazilian jiu-jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (JJB) originated in Brazil and gained international notoriety following the triumphs of the Gracie family in the first free sparring competitions in the USA.
This discipline met emphasizes ground techniques, promoting strength, flexibility and endurance, while boosting self-confidence.
Essential in the MMA fighter's arsenal, JJB is crucial to mastering ground confrontations.
