TECHNICAL INFORMATION

DESIGN

The 500 judo kimono is made from a polyester-cotton fabric that shrinks less with repeated washing and dries more quickly than 100% cotton models.
Judo kimonos feature collar reinforcements (for gripping the jacket) and knee reinforcements for ground fighting.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR JUDO KIMONO?

Judo is a grappling sport. By grabbing his opponent, the young judoka must take hold of his opponent's kimono in order to throw him to the ground, then eventually immobilize him.
This is why the kimono must be particularly resistant to traction, reinforced in areas of tension and friction.

WHICH KIMONO TO CHOOSE FOR YOUR LEVEL OF PRACTICE?

- A child who is new to judo, or has been practicing for 1 or 2 years, will choose a 100% cotton kimono, in twill fabric (220° gr/m²), both supple and resistant.
- A judoka who has been practicing judo for 2 years (yellow or orange belt), or who is just beginning to compete, will choose a grain-of-rice-type kimono, extremely resistant to traction when gripping the guard. Its polyester/cotton composition (350 gr/m²) ensures good shrink resistance and fast drying.

WHICH SIZE TO CHOOSE?

Your child's height will determine the size of the kimono, from 100 cm to 150 cm.
We recommend choosing a kimono 5 to 10 cm larger than your child's height. For example, if your child is 133 cm tall, choose a 140 cm kimono.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

We recommend airing your kimono after each use. Regular washing will preserve the white color of your kimono. The first washes should be cold. Thereafter, do not exceed a water temperature of 30°C.

THE BENEFITS OF JUDO

Judo is a very physical sport: in a single session, children expend an enormous amount of energy.
A complete sport: as the aim is to control the weight of their opponents, children use and develop all their muscles.
This sport is also a psychological workout. It makes the body and mind more flexible. Indeed, "judo" means "way of suppleness".
