How does a battery-free lamp work?
Are you familiar with the dynamo principle on a bicycle?
The Motion Light works in the same way, but with an oscillating movement: with each stride you take, the magnet passes through the coil and creates electricity which powers the 4 red LEDs.
The result is a simple, practical running light. There's no need for batteries, buttons or other handling: you just wear it and it lights up with every stride!
Autonomy and long life, we present you a lamp that will accompany you for a long time:
Thanks to its dynamo system, Motion Light works without batteries. An eco... nomic advantage:
In the laboratory, we tested this lamp to ensure that it would still work after 10 million oscillations, i.e. 10 million strides.
10 million strides, doesn't that tell you something? Considering that you cover 1 meter per stride, that's a lifespan of over 10,000 km. That's 10 years at a rate of 1,000 km per year.
Are you ready?
What's behind the Motion Light design?
The Motion Light's clip is designed to be attached to thin running clothing: on a belt loop, in a pocket, on a belt... And for even more choice, your light comes with an adjustable elastic armband.
We chose red LEDs because this color is associated on the road with tail lights and slowing down. The lamp is visible at 100 m, giving a car in town time to stop.
All this for a weight of 50 g, in a transparent case!
Our design team tells the story of Motion Light
At the origin of this product, there was a desire: "we wanted to innovate to remove the constraints of electronics when running."
What followed was a team of 3 people, 18 months of development, lots of exchanges with runners and a bias: "we dared to say to ourselves: we're going to make a product without batteries."
And after many prototypes, we're proud to offer a simple, practical lamp.
"The idea is that you run and we take care of everything else."
Any last words of advice before you set off?
Gilles, product manager, and Lucie, designer, give you their tips for running at night:
"It's important to be visible. Especially when you're running at night in places where you're sharing the road with vehicles bigger than you! In the end, you need to be visible more than you need to see. Just as you put on your shoes before you run, you put on your light."
And for even greater peace of mind?
"Ideally, don't run alone :)
