Intuitive and educational.
To help you catch more waves, we're working to make all our products as intuitive and educational as possible.
That's why this leash has been designed to suit bodyboarders who want to attach it to their wrist or arm, no questions asked.
How to use your confirmed bodyboard leash.
This leash is attached to the bodyboard using the leash plug supplied or already in place on your bodyboard.
It can be attached to both the wrist and the arm (biceps).
Minimum wrist circumference: 15cm / Maximum arm circumference: 35cm.
To attach to the biceps, place the strap above the elbow on the side you prefer. Bending your arm at 90°, tighten the strap with your other hand and secure it with the hook-and-loop tape.
Construction suitable for all types of conditions: Confirmed level.
The components chosen for this leash provide good strength in waves of less than 1m50. However, be careful not to put yourself in dangerous situations if the leash breaks.
Systematically check the condition of your leash before the session and avoid prolonged exposure to UV light. Always rinse it and store it in a dry, shaded place.
For waves over 1m50, we recommend the Leash 900.
Compact design.
The use of a spiral leash makes for a compact leash that is not obtrusive in practice. If the leash is stored too long in the extended position, the spirals will relax and the compactness will no longer be guaranteed. It is therefore advisable to attach the adjustable end to the rope connected to the plug, using the hook-and-loop strap, between each session. This will prevent the leash from stretching when not in use. See related photo.
Where to install the leash plug on the bodyboard?
To install the plug on a bodyboard, first identify the location: Between 10 and 15 cm from the nose of the board, far enough away from any stringers.
If the board has 2 stringers, the plug must be centered. If the board has only one stringer, the plug must be at least 5 cm from the middle of the board, rather to the right if you wear your leash on the right, or vice versa.
How do I install the leash plug?
Using a large Phillips screwdriver, drill the hole from the bottom up. (If you drill from the top, you could damage the slick by peeling it off).
Insert the 2 parts of the plug one after the other, with the screw on the underside.
Screw in with a 2 euro coin until the slick is slightly deformed.
Safety rules and behaviour in the water - Part 1.
Bodyboarding is a fantastic sport that requires certain fundamental rules to be respected for the pleasure and safety of all.
1- Find out about the spot and observe its characteristics: current, rocks, tidal influence, wave size, number of people in the water...
2- Don't overestimate your level and prefer an easier spot if conditions exceed your abilities.
3- Practice with the right equipment: Leash, fins and board in good condition, suitable neoprene wetsuit.
Safety rules and behavior in the water - Part 2.
4- Respect the rules of priority on the wave: priority to whoever is closest to the breaker.
5- Go around the breaker zone when you go up to the peak to avoid cutting the path of another rider.
6- Use flippers if the water level is higher than your hips.
7- If you don't use flippers, we recommend that you practice in the safe swimming area. Ask the lifeguards on site for more information.
8- Practice with others.
