TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Position:

Neck weights are used in two different freediving disciplines: dynamic freediving and deep-sea freediving.

In dynamic freediving, the freedivers seek a horizontal hydrodynamic position. The large volume of air in the lungs creates great buoyancy in the upper part of the body. A neck weight helps to maintain the correct position.

At depth, during descent, the freediver seeks a hydrodynamic position during the "free fall". A head weight will help.
