ANTI-UV
Anti-UV material, but what is it for?
To protect your eyes from an invisible danger... UV rays.
UV rays are always present, in winter or summer, on sunny or even overcast days, and can be harmful to your eyes and their contours.
To protect your vision, the lenses of our sunglasses are made of polycarbonate mixed with "anti-UV" material that protects you from the sun's harmful rays (UVA and UVB).
EBLOUISSEMENT
Classification of tinted lenses in accordance with ISO 12312-1:
- Category 1: lightly tinted lenses for low solar luminosity.
- Category 2: moderately tinted lenses for medium solar luminosity.
- Category 3: dark lenses for high solar luminosity (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light absorbed
- Category 4: very dark glass, for exceptional solar luminosity (high mountains). Between 92% and 97% of visible light absorbed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our lenses are made of polycarbonate, a material that is highly resistant to impact, but whose major drawback is that it is sensitive to scratches.
Even if your lenses are scratched, the UV protection does not diminish - the mirror effect is purely aesthetic.
The same applies to the color of our sunglasses.
Whether gray, brown or colored... you can choose your sunglasses according to your preferences, and you'll be protected whatever the color.
FRAMES MADE FROM BIO-SOURCED POLYMERS
For the frame of these sunglasses, we use Rilsan Clear G850 Rnew, a polymer derived from castor oil.
This biosourced material is a real asset in our developments, enabling us to obtain a lightweight, flexible frame.
1.5MM GLASS TO REDUCE MATERIAL CONSUMPTION
Reducing our environmental impact also means reducing our consumption of materials.
By reducing the thickness of our lenses, we not only use less material, but also make our products lighter, while retaining the same characteristics.
EYEWEAR FRAMES WITH LESS IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
To limit the environmental impact of our sunglasses, we can also act on the material.
On the frames of these sunglasses, we limit the use of varnish and paint, everything being integrated directly into the product's mold. This is still not enough, which is why we are working to ensure that these sunglasses will one day be 100% eco-designed.
