We have improved this product with an eco-design approach to lenses, in particular by switching to "shapped lens", which greatly reduces losses of this component and therefore the final impact of the product.
PHOTOCHROMIC TECHNOLOGY
The tint of so-called "photochromic" lenses varies according to the amount of UV.
To go from a light to a dark state (categories 2 to 4), the lens tint activation time is approximately 1 minute. To go from dark to light, the deactivation time is approximately 3 minutes at room temperature (23°C).
Lenses adapt directly to the amount of UV emitted outdoors, to provide optimum protection for users in different weather conditions.
Anti UV
Anti-UV material, but what is it for?
To protect your eyes from an invisible danger... UV rays.
UV rays are always present, in winter or summer, on sunny or even overcast days, and can be harmful to your eyes and their contours.
To protect your vision, the lenses of our sunglasses are made of polycarbonate mixed with "anti-UV" material that protects you from the sun's harmful rays (UVA and UVB).
Glass category
Classification of tinted lenses in accordance with ISO 12312-1:
- Category 1: lightly tinted lenses for low solar luminosity.
- Category 2: moderately tinted lenses for medium solar luminosity.
- Category 3: dark lenses for high solar luminosity (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light absorbed
- Category 4: very dark glass, for exceptional solar luminosity (high mountains). Between 92% and 97% of visible light absorbed.
Good to know
Our lenses are made of polycarbonate, a material that is highly resistant to impact, but whose major drawback is that it is sensitive to scratches.
Even if your lenses are scratched, the UV protection does not diminish - the mirror effect is purely aesthetic.
The same applies to the color of our sunglasses.
Whether gray, brown or colored... you can choose your sunglasses according to your preferences, and you'll be protected whatever the color.
