YOU ARE A BEGINNER SURFER
Your daughter is starting to surf in very small waves. She'll stay where she's comfortable and accompanied. She wants to have fun in the waves and discover new sensations. As she learns to surf, she'll be dropping into waves that aren't at all powerful. We've designed swimsuits that are adapted to the little surfer's morphology, so she can hold her own in small waves.
MORPHOLOGY
This BALI 2-piece swimsuit has been designed for all little surfers to have fun and discover the waves. Its bra with thin straps ensures a good fit in the waves. The swimsuit is easy to store thanks to an integrated pocket, so young surfers can take it with them wherever they go.
GIRL'S SWIMSUIT SIZE
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers with their growth in mind, which is why we systematically associate stature with size, i.e. the child's height, since age alone does not guarantee the right size. In fact, two 10-year-old girls can have totally different heights, measurements, weights and morphologies. We also recommend an in-cabin fitting if possible.

Here's the link between age and stature on our swimwear labels:
4/5 years: from 105 to 114 cm
5/6 years: from 115 to 124 cm
7/8 years: from 125 to 132 cm
8/9 years: from 133 to 142 cm
10/11 years: from 143 to 150 cm
12/13 years: from 151 to 160 cm
14/15 years: from 161 to 169 cm
DRY CUTTING AND WET CUTTING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, we have to adjust our models when dry, because once in the water, swimwear relaxes. We therefore advise you to choose the right size. The swimsuit must fit snugly on your body in the cabin, so you feel supported. The elastane contained in some of the components used in our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.
WAVE HOLDING TEST
We design swimsuits whose promise is to hold up in the wave. To evaluate them, we call on a panel of at least 12 surfers of different morphologies to follow a pool test protocol in our design offices in Hendaye. The aim of this protocol is to reproduce the sensations experienced by the surfer when she is tossed by a wave. If the test is conclusive, we head out to sea to test our swimwear in real-life conditions.

Based in Hendaye, in the south-west of France, OLAIAN is the new surf brand from Decathlon. In our "feet in the water" offices, we can design a swimsuit in a day, then test it directly in the sea to check how it holds up in the wave.
