Choosing baby-basketball for your children?
Basketball is one of the sports that children can start playing at an early age, with small balls and adjustable baskets.
From the age of 3 or 4, there are baby-basketball classes with distinct rules.
It enables children to develop their psychomotor skills by working on technique, but also to learn to live as part of a team.
Basketball also develops your children's elongation and flexibility, speed, endurance and team spirit.
Which ball to play basketball with?
The size of the ball depends on the age or sex of the player.
Size 1: Baby basketball from 3 years
Size 3: Girl or boy from 4 to 6 years
Size 5: Boy from 7 to 11 years / Girl from 7 to 13 years
Size 6: Boy from 12 to 13 years / Girl - Woman from 14 years
Size 7: Boy - Man from 14 years
If you want a very resistant ball, opt for a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good touch, you'll need a leather or synthetic ball.
What height basketball hoop should I choose?
The regulation height for a basketball hoop is 3.05m (height of the hoop).
If you're looking for a basketball backboard for a child, you'll need a hoop with a height-adjustment system.
For the youngest children, there is no official height, so you can choose the height that suits them.
Up to the age of 10, children play in clubs on 2.60m baskets.
After the age of 10, girls and boys play on 3.05m basketball backboards.
