Wrist protection
In snowboarding, a so-called "butterball fracture" is one of the most common childhood injuries. It recovers quickly and well, but it's still a fracture. To limit this risk, this mitt has been designed and tested according to a protocol based on the EN 14120 standard, notably on 3 important points:
_ Cushioning on the palm of the hand
_ Limitation of the angle of extension of the wrist
_ Very good fit of the mitt + wrist guard on the hand and wrist.
Why isn't the wrist guard removable?
There are 3 reasons for this:
_ The palm foams and wrist reinforcement plate will be correctly positioned
_ You can't lose or forget the wrist guard. For children AND parents, we found this very interesting.
_ And as a result, it's very reassuring: if your child has his mittens, then he's necessarily protected.
Above or below the jacket sleeve?
For this mitt, we made the clear choice to put the jacket sleeve over the mitt.
It's long to protect the wrist and narrow so that the sleeve passes easily over it.
How do I keep from losing my gloves on the chairlift?
An elastic strap allows gloves to be removed on ski lifts without the risk of losing them.
How can I be sure that my gloves/slippers are waterproof?
The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it, thanks to a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. The fabric does not become waterlogged, and remains light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after an average of 2 to 3 washes, using products available in our stores.
