WHAT ARE TMV AND RATIO?
The cranking speed of a carp reel (TMV) corresponds to the average length (in centimetres) of line put away after one cranking speed.
The ratio of a reel corresponds to the number of turns made by the spool for one cranking speed. Example: for a ratio of 5.8:1, the spool will make 5.8 turns for one cranking revolution.
WITH POWER!
During a fight with a carp, the latter exerts considerable force on the reel. The reel must be able to withstand this while remaining reliable and precise. We talk about the power of the drag in kg.
Our SPRY reel offers 7kg (and 8kg for the 8000 version) of power, which is more than enough to fight the biggest specimens.
In fact, during a tough fight when you have to drag the fish hard, the necessary resistance rarely exceeds 3kg.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF A DISENGAGEABLE REEL?
A disengageable drag allows you to have different settings between the drag at the start and the drag needed during the fight. You can switch from one to the other very quickly by activating the first turn of the crank.
You can therefore anticipate by adjusting the level of the fighting brake before a carp produces a start.
