USE COUNCIL

We recommend using this reel with:
the HRK 10' #3/4 rod and a DT3 or WF4 line
or the HRK 9' #4/5 rod and a DT4 or WF5 line

COIL CAPACITY

WF3 + 150 m backing (20lbs)
WF4 + 125 m backing (20lbs)
WF5 + 100 m backing (20lbs)

BALANCING

Balancing the rod and reel assembly is essential. The HRK R1 reel will be perfect for balancing a 9'#4/5 as well as a 10'#3/4. A 10'#3/4 rod, because of its length, would not be well balanced by a smaller reel designed for 3/4 line. This applies to both dry fly and nymph fishing.

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

Never store your reel with the drag set. During use, be careful not to set your drag too high to avoid breaking on a big fish. Gradual adjustment of the drag means you don't lock the spool in a single turn of the knob, so you can adjust the tension throughout the fight without the risk of being caught off guard.

DESIGN

Our reels are developed by our teams of engineers and designers in Cestas, France.
In the heart of the Gironde and close to numerous fishing spots (large lakes in the South-West, rivers in the Pyrenees and even the Atlantic Ocean), we design, test and improve our products on a daily basis to ensure that they are both light and strong.
Our reels are tested and approved by numerous anglers: staff, customers and fishing guides.
