Whether you're a triathlete or a sportsman, Forerunner 965 lets you train in a whole range of different sports. You'll benefit from training data tailored to each discipline. As with the triathlon or multi-sport profiles, a simple press of a button lets you close a sport and move on to transitions, then to the next sport. You can also create your own sequences by choosing the sports you want.
More technically, the 965 gives you access to a running widget. This is an application that prepares you for your next goal, whatever the distance. Here, you'll benefit from tailored training advice, suggested workouts, and predicted times based on the course or weather. These training suggestions can also be found in your calendar on the Garmin Connect application.
Never leave your shape and form. Thanks to training status, which takes into account VFC (indicates whether your sleep is restorative or not), session history and performance, you get a quick overview of your efforts. So you know whether you're training correctly, too little or too hard.
The Garmin Connect app provides you with pre-created training routes and lets you create your own, wherever you are. All you have to do is synchronize them with your watch and start your session.
Your watch also tells you the optimum rest time to observe before returning to training. The race predictor, meanwhile, will give you potentially achievable times from 5km to Marathon, depending on your level.
Tracking the menstrual cycle gives women advice on exercise and diet.
When you run, you'll have plenty of information in real time, such as your cadence, stride length, ground contact time... As for the heart rate monitor, it's taken directly from your wrist thanks to a sensor system. You'll also know what intensity zone you're in, with the number of beats per minute.
One of the new features on this watch is the Acute Load function. This compares your recent training load with the optimum range for improving your fitness.
The training effect lets you discover how your workouts affect your endurance, power and speed. You can also see how your training sessions are helping you to evolve and progress, thanks to the VO2 Max function.
If you'd like to create a health overview, simply record a 2-minute session to track your health statistics, then generate a report for your doctor to consult.
The pulse oximeter determines the oxygen saturation in your blood, whether you're awake or asleep.
You can also check your power output on your wrist thanks to the running power function, whether on the road or on the trails.
Thanks to round-trip routing, you get suggested routes that allow you to return to your starting point. It's up to you to decide how far you want to go.
The other new feature of the 965 is SATIQ technology, which is coupled to the Multi-Band GPS. This gives you superior positioning accuracy and extended battery life.
The PacePro function uses a pace indicator to plan your race strategy on race day, whatever the distance.
Track racing requires you to first record circuit distances in meters, and then set reference times. And if you're heading for the mountains, the Climbpro function gives you information on current or upcoming climbs. You can also get an overview of all points of interest around you, such as restaurants, shops or first-aid stations.
The 965 offers a wide range of activities, including cycling (road, MTB, track), running (on all types of terrain), weight training, swimming, triathlon....More than 30 sports are available. And don't leave your best playlist behind thanks to the integrated music (Spotify application, Deezer, etc.).
If you feel in danger, or if your watch detects that an incident has occurred, it sends a message containing your position in real time3.
Pay with ease thanks to the Garmin Pay function (check with partner banks). Receive e-mails, messages and alerts on your watch thanks to Smart Notifications (the watch must be paired with the phone).
