Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, they offer an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, making them lighter than most calipers on the market at just 419 g each, without compromising stability.
The ergonomic control stirrup footplate is set at 0 ¼ with a cross-grip surface with integrated hardened steel pins to provide maximum boot security.
The footrest is supported by a double-balanced arch system that distributes weight evenly over the base of the stirrup frame. The top of the frame is recessed and offset, favoring a 45 ¼ outward orientation, making it easier for the rider to locate the optimal angle for the foot and find a lost stirrup.
An integrated articulated arm features a two-stage release system, preventing unintentional opening. The spring-loaded arm locks into the base of the main frame, meaning that when subjected to maximum pressure, such as landing on a fence, the rider's weight is distributed evenly over the stirrup, preventing the outside from falling off and bending. When pressure is exerted on the stirrup arm, the arm releases, allowing the foot to slip out of the stirrup and minimizing the risk of jamming. The pull-out force of the stirrup arm = 36 N (equivalent to 3.62 kg) in tests, which means sufficient resistance to prevent unintentional opening, but will release if necessary.
