The ergonomic control stirrup plate is set at 0 degrees, with a gripping surface across the track and integrated hardened steel pins for maximum boot security.
The footplate is supported by a double balance arch system that distributes weight evenly over the base of the stirrup frame. The top of the frame is recessed and offset, favoring a 45 ¼ outward orientation, making it easier for the rider to find the optimal angle for the foot and recover a lost stirrup.
An integrated articulated arm features a two-stage release system, preventing unintentional opening. The spring-loaded arm locks into place at the base of the main frame, meaning that when maximum pressure is applied, e.g. when landing on a fence, the rider's weight is distributed evenly over the stirrup, preventing the outside from falling off and flexing. When pressure is exerted on the stirrup arm, it releases, allowing the foot to step out of the stirrup and minimizing the risk of jamming. The opening force of the stirrup arm = 36 N (equivalent to 3.62 kg) in tests, meaning that the resistance is sufficient to prevent unintentional opening, but releases when necessary.
It is important to note that no stirrup of this design (with a quick-release arm) is 100% guaranteed to open in the event of a fall. Several factors, such as the horse's fall, a loose girth leading to slipping
