The ergonomic sole of the Balance stirrup is set at 5 degrees with a transverse grip surface and mounted on a dynamic shock-absorbing polymer layer with a compression ratio of 70%. Impact and vibration are absorbed at the landing point during jumps, reducing knee and ankle fatigue and lessening stress on leg muscles and tendons. Integrated hardened steel pins ensure maximum boot security.
The sole is supported by a double balance arch system that distributes weight evenly over the base of the stirrup frame. The top of the frame is recessed and offset, favoring a 45 ¼ outward orientation, making it easier for the rider to find the optimal angle for the foot and recover a lost stirrup.
An integrated articulated arm features a two-stage release system, preventing unintentional opening. The spring-loaded arm locks into the base of the main frame, meaning that under maximum pressure, such as when landing on a fence, the rider's weight is distributed evenly over the stirrup, preventing the outside from sagging and flexing. When pressure is applied to the stirrup arm, it releases, allowing the foot to step out of the stirrup and preventing it from becoming trapped. The opening force of the stirrup arm = 36 N (equivalent to 3.62 kg) in tests, which means that the resistance is sufficient to prevent unintentional opening, but that it releases.
