The bevelled bit provides slight leverage and a little more control, promoting responsiveness and correct head carriage. Combined with a brass alloy mouthpiece, it's an ideal bit for horses that need a little more braking power but may have a sensitive mouth. The double-jointed mouthpiece offers greater comfort in the horse's mouth, as it prevents pinching of the lips and bars of the mouth, while reducing the nutcracker action of a single-jointed bit.
A central pad distributes pressure over the tongue and bars of the mouth, encouraging mouthing and contact. Brass alloy is formed when copper is alloyed with a harder metal, producing a warm, durable material that is perfect for horse bits as it can facilitate salivation and be more palatable to the horse.
