The loose ring snaffle with copper pellet is fast becoming a popular bit. It is suitable for horses with large tongues or small mouths, as the copper pad and double articulation reduce the nutcracker effect of a single-articulated bit. This bit is very similar to the French link snaffle, but the smooth central pad gives a slightly more positive action on the tongue than the flat plate of the French link snaffle. The double articulation is often preferred by horses as the absence of pressure on the palate makes the bit more comfortable and pressure is evenly distributed on the tongue and mouth bars.
The ergonomic copper pad is warm and encourages the horse to salivate and accept the bit. Made from stainless steel, the most commonly used material for horse bits, it's durable, easy to clean, tasteless and won't rust. Ideal for many horses and most equestrian disciplines.
According to our size guide, the A and B measurements of this bit are as follows:
A=16mm
B=65mm
