Also known as the continental bit, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same way as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Reins can be attached to either the snaffle ring or the lower ring to increase pressure and leverage. You can also use two reins or rounds attached to a single rein with this bit to maintain correct contact on the snaffle ring without pressure on the nape of the neck when necessary.
An anatomical brass alloy pad in the center helps distribute even pressure on the tongue and mouth bars and also encourages mouthing and contact. The blue soft iron mouthpiece oxidizes easily, creating a warm sensation and sweet taste in the horse's mouth, helping him to accept the bit. Please note that the blue color fades with use, which is normal. An ideal bit for those who need a little extra braking power when jumping or doing fast work.

Blue Sweet iron bits...
Blue Sweet iron bits oxidize easily, creating a warm, sweet taste in the horse's mouth, encouraging salivation. Some horses often prefer the warm feeling of soft iron to stainless steel, which is naturally cooler. Soft iron bits are therefore ideal for sensitive horses or horses that need to be encouraged to put the bit in their mouth and accept it.
Match your blue two-ring soft iron bit with one of our anatomically designed bridles.
For health and hygiene reasons, this bit is not returnable if removed from the model.
