Nearly fifty years ago, Tom Ritchey, his mentor Jobst Brandt and a group of like-minded friends spent countless adventurous hours riding the remote trails, broken asphalt and rough gravel roads that wind through the mountains in and around Northern California's Butano State Park. Tom still rides these trails and roads today, and this topography and the pioneering rides that took place there are the inspiration for the Butano handlebar. Since its launch a few years ago, this unique handlebar has been much sought-after by legions of gravel enthusiasts and road cyclists alike. Its wide flare offers adventurous riders a greater level of control and confidence than traditional handlebars, while its low rise and short reach offer welcome comfort for endless days spent on rough terrain. Updated for 2021, the new Butano capitalizes on its original comfort by adding new features such as the possibility of internal cable routing and a welcoming ergo-aero top section for better hand support. Butano's handlebar flare has also been widened, with an 18° angle, for greater comfort and control. The new Butano handlebar was born of Tom's legendary adventures in the remote mountains of California, and offers the features you need for your own endless explorations and relentless travels.
