TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Reliability and safety

Simple, robust construction. It makes the SUBEA octopus the ideal second stage for first-time divers, as well as the perfect choice for safe diving thanks to its one-meter yellow hose for easy air sharing. The SUBEA octopus is a second stage valve with a large diaphragm and purge button.

Exhalation: more visibility & less noise

During exhalation, ergonomic whiskers channel the flow of air bubbles through the cheeks, so that the noise doesn't disturb the diver and the bubbles don't pass in front of the mask. Less discomfort during practice and more pleasure in the activity!

Ease of use

A second stage regulator must translate natural breathing behavior into a mechanical reality. High-quality second stage regulators can significantly reduce stress, helping to improve diver safety by supplying air more easily and in sufficient quantity, without the need for unnecessary effort. Breathing in is made easier thanks to the hood's hydrodynamic openings. This exclusive hood design also prevents the regulator from being set to continuous flow.

SUBEA regulators: exclusive patented anatomical mouthpiece!

These regulator mouthpieces have been designed to guarantee excellent comfort in the mouth, thanks to their anatomical tip developed with orthodontists. The exclusive shape of this mouthpiece facilitates support in the mouth, thanks to the palate fins, lingual support and different material thicknesses and densities (mono or bi-density), taking into account the angle of jaw closure.

Weight and hose length

Weight of octopus with hose: 365 grams.
Hose length: 100 cm.

Attaches to medium-pressure outlet (LP - 3/8).

Maintenance tips

Never use solvents or hydrocarbon-based products to clean or lubricate your regulator yourself. Never use aerosol cans, as the propellants may attack plastics.

Regulator overhaul

Subea recommends that you have your regulator overhauled every two years, and visually inspected at least once a year. Both examinations should be carried out by a certified workshop SUBEA.
An overhaul is also recommended after a particularly intense season (more than 100 dives) or after a long period of inactivity.

TESTS

Our technical partner: PlanetOcean (5-star PADI diving center) based at the Water Sports Center by DECATHLON in Hendaye, France. The center uses SUBEA diving equipment all year round. The team of instructors plays a key role in the development of SUBEA products: from design with the teams (product managers, designers and engineers), to long-term wear tests with the help of the center's divers (from beginners to instructors in training all year round).

Approved by

All SUBEA diving regulators have been developed through usability and practicality tests (Static, Dynamic and Biomechanical Analysis) carried out by DAN Europe* as an independent specialist and consultant.
