TECHNICAL INFORMATION

What is the dimension line of a ski?

The dimension line corresponds to the width of the tip, runner and tail.
The wider the tip, the easier the ski enters the turn. The narrower the runner, the grippier the ski on hard snow. The wider the runner, the more comfortable and stable the ski is in snow changes.

Profile: Rocker/Camber/Rocker , Directional Shape.
In 162cm 129/89/113mm, radius = 16m
In 170cm 127/88/111mm, radius = 17m
In 178cm 124/88/109mm, radius = 18m

Selection assistance

If you want to get started in freeride skiing, the Rookie is the ski for you.
If you already do a lot of off-piste skiing, you'll want to choose between a Patrol and a Slash.
The Patrol is for those who like serious, catchy, all-round skis.
The Slash is more for those who prefer super-playful skis.
For powder hunters, a Pow Chaser is the ski for them.

Which skier are you?

If you're an expert on the slopes but dream of powder, the Rookie is the ski that will let you take the plunge! Designed for beginner freeriders looking for a ski that's comfortable on piste and easy off-piste. Safe, maneuverable and forgiving, it will accompany you as you discover off-piste skiing, starting at the edge of the slopes with the markers in sight, and then gradually moving out a little further.

Freerando pack skis + bindings + skins

The ROOKIE skis are offered in a pack with Ambition 10 MN touring ski bindings and skins.
The binding is mounted on an adjustable plate that allows you to adjust the length of the binding to any foot size.
This mounting allows you to lend your skis, change boot sizes, ... It's a great way to introduce people to freeriding.

Compatible with soles - Alpine, GripWalk
Suitable for boots measuring from 259mm to 38

Skins

The skins offered with Rookie skis are cut to the size and width of the ski.
They are made from 70% mohair and 30% synthetic. This is the best compromise between glide (when climbing, to limit effort) and grip (when climbing, to limit the recoil effect).
Skins are fitted with a stirrup at the front for quick attachment to the tips, and an adjustable camlock at the rear to lock the skin to the ski heel.

Fasteners

The Ambition 10 MN is unrivalled as an alpine freerando binding, thanks to its natural ski flex and top-level downhill performance. It is suitable for adult alpine ski boots (ISO 5355 TYPE A), adult GripWalk (ISO 23223 TYPE A) and all ski touring boots (ISO 9523). Bindings can be adjusted to different sole lengths, from 260 to 350 mm.
DIN adjustment: 3 - 10

Description

Its 90 mm width underfoot provides good stability and comfort in changing snow conditions. Its shape with a small camber underfoot and its front and rear rockers allow you to pivot easily for greater maneuverability whatever the quality of the snow. It's ideal for your first powder outings in 15 to 20 centimeters of fresh snow.

Construction

Woodcore Tec is a construction with a wood core (beech and fir) and vertical edges.
The advantage of this construction? It offers great skiing versatility and comfort, whatever the snow.

Weight

In 162cm, ski only: 1570g, ski + binding pack: 2550g
In 170cm, ski only: 1720g, ski + binding pack: 2700g
In 178cm, ski only: 1870g, ski + binding pack: 2850g

What is a camber?

When a ski is placed on the ground, the contact points of the ski on the snow are located near the tip and tail, while the center of the ski (under the bindings) rises slightly (this is the camber). The longer and higher the camber, the more grippy and responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving and maneuverable the ski.

What is a rocker?

On a rocker ski, the tip and sometimes the tail lift off the ground much earlier than on a cambered ski. This shifts the contact points towards the center of the ski. This shortens the surface area of the ski in contact with the snow, giving you more maneuverability and lift in soft snow. The angle of the rocker gives you more edge length for greater grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the more maneuverable your ski.

Preparation

Skis waxed and sharpened, ready to use. Edges sharpened to 89°.

Black outsole for easy repairs.
Semi-capped topsheet to prevent chipping.

TESTS

All Wed'ze products are imagined, designed and conceived in the Mont-Blanc valley. They are then tested under conditions identical to those you will find yourself in use (under the snow, in the cold, in powder snow...). The design teams make sure that the program for which the product was conceived and developed corresponds perfectly to its use in the field.
