WHAT'S A SWIMMING FIN FOR?
A fin is swimming training equipment for working the lower body. You'll simultaneously work your heart rate and strengthen lower-body muscles (thighs, buttocks, calves, sheathing).
FIN LENGTH
SHORT WAILING PALM
- 33-34 : 30 cm
- 35-36 : 31 cm
- 37-38 : 32.5 cm
- 39-40 : 34 cm
- 41-42 : 35 cm
- 43-44 : 36.5 cm
- 45-46 : 38 cm
SHORT WAILING guarantees a good kicking frequency and a good cardio workout. Movements are very similar to a swimmer's "natural" movements.
The LONG canopy guarantees a fuller kick and greater muscular workout.
FIN RIGIDITY
SOFT PALMS
The stiffer the blade, the greater the muscular effort required.
The SOFTER the blade, the more efficient and ample the kick. Your muscle tone will determine the type of effort you're looking for (cardiovascular or muscular).
SHOES
CLOSED SHOES
Flipper shoes will ensure that the foot is supported when kicking (important for effective kicking).
OPEN shoes allow the ankle to move more freely
CLOSED shoes support the foot in its natural position.
YOUR FIRST USE OF A PALM?
Be careful not to start too quickly! Use of the fins should be increased gradually to build up the leg and foot muscles and avoid Achilles tendon pain.
