WHAT ARE SWIMMING FINS FOR?
Pool flippers are a piece of swimming training equipment designed to accentuate the muscular demands on the lower body. During practice, the efforts made with the fins will enable you to simultaneously work your heart rate, abdominal muscles and lower body (thighs, buttocks, calves). The effort involved in swimming with fins helps to burn fat, tone and sculpt the body.
A DECATHLON INNOVATION
Many swimmers use swim fins to build up their leg muscles. Conventional fins concentrate their efforts on the quadriceps, but do very little for the ischial and gluteal muscles.
To work these muscles, we have designed these pool fins with a 38° inclined blade, which increases resistance on ascent and reduces effort on descent.
FLIPPER TESTS
The 150 tests carried out enabled us to measure a 19% increase in muscle load on the ischials and a 27% increase on the glutes*.

LENGTH SWIMMING FINS
TONIFINS fins are long fins.
- 36-37 : 36.5 cm
- 38-39 : 39 cm
- 40-41 : 41.5 cm
The short blade guarantees a good kicking frequency and a good cardio workout. Movements are very similar to a swimmer's "natural" movements.
The long blade guarantees a fuller kick and greater muscular workout.
The long blade of TONIFINS fins therefore works the targeted muscles in depth.
STIFFNESS FINS SWIMMING
TONIFINS fins are semi-rigid.
The stiffer the blade, the greater the muscular effort required.
The softer the blade, the more efficient and ample the kick.
Your muscle tone will determine the type of effort you are looking for, i.e., a more cardiovascular or more muscular effort.
SWIMMING FIN SLIPPERS
TONIFINS fins have an open toe cap.
The toe cap ensures that the foot is properly supported when kicking. They are therefore an important part of pool fins, as they guarantee efficient kicking.
Open shoes allow the ankle to move more freely.
Closed shoes support the foot in its natural position.
The open shoes on TONIFINS fins ensure good support and freedom of movement.
