Efficiency and power
At Subea, we have developed a "fin robot". This robot is a test bench for measuring the fin's propulsion output and the energy required from the diver. From this we can deduce the efficiency of a fin.
We use this robot throughout the development of our products to correlate our sensations in use with a scientific measurement.
Each fin prototype is tested until we obtain the product that meets our expectations.
Slippers
Part of the fin where the foot is positioned. It can be fully closed in the case of shoe fins, or opened and closed by an adjustable strap in the case of adjustable fins.
Canopy
The flat part of the fin contributes to its power. The longer and/or harder it is, the more powerful the fin. The shorter and/or softer, the less powerful.
Dimensions and weight of fins (size 42/43)
Length: 60 cm.
Width: 20 cm.
Weight: 0.95 kg (pair).
Positive buoyancy (floats slightly)
