TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Fleece component: insulation through air

The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture; this air keeps the body warm thanks to its insulating power. It's the scratching of the mesh that traps the air.

Component water repellency

A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it. This means the fabric doesn't become waterlogged, remaining light, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by a PFC free treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed over the life of the garment (we recommend every wash). Products for this purpose are available in our stores.

We recommend avoiding chemicals such as bleach, which can affect the thermal insulation of garments.

TESTS

We carry out 2 types of thermal test:
- a test of the trouser material.
- a test on a thermal dummy in a thermal chamber.
Here, we reproduce the temperature, wind (5km/h) and humidity conditions you'd encounter in the mountains when walking at 5km/h.
These tests validate our design choices, enabling us to tailor thermal insulation where you need it most.
