Am I sure my pants are warm enough for winter hiking?
The inside of your pants is scratched, a process known to conserve heat. The principle is simple: the component's mesh is structured to create volume and trap air, a natural insulator. It's exactly the same principle as that of fur or animal feathers.
What is water repellency and how can it be preserved?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it. This means the fabric doesn't become waterlogged, and remains light, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed over the life of the garment (we recommend every wash). Products (spray or liquid) are available for this purpose in our stores.
How do my pants protect me from the elements?
In winter, it's important to be protected from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind, as the latter cools the body enormously, whether you're active or resting. We've designed your pants with a windproof, water-repellent outer fabric to cope with all winter conditions. We've also added lace fasteners to protect you from snow intrusion.
How should I dress for snow hiking?
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend applying the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: technical undergarments allow moisture transfer to keep the skin dry.
layer 2: the second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and moisture transfer.
layer 3: the jacket protects against external conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole garment must be breathable to evacuate moisture.
Will my pants stand up to regular use over time?
To ensure the durability of our products, we carry out tests on the chosen components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colorfastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests are carried out on the component of your pants.
