Sand protection
These pants have been designed for desert trekking, especially in sandy deserts. To keep sand out, you'll find:
- a lightweight gaiter (invisible if you don't need it) that fastens over the laces of your Désert 500 boot.
- a storm pocket inspired by canyoning bags to protect your phone or other fragile items (sandproof). To evacuate sand from the other pocket, the bottom is made of mesh.
UV PROTECTION: WHAT DOES UPF 40 MEAN?
The UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) index corresponds to tests carried out on a fabric using a spectrophotometer. UPF 40 means that the fabric allows only 1/40th of UV rays to pass through. This is one of the highest levels of protection against the sun's rays.
A cut adapted to hot climates
For added comfort, these pants have a loose fit, unlike most hiking pants. This means the fabric doesn't stick to the skin, allowing air to circulate and limiting perspiration. What's more, the loose fit means you won't be blocked by the fabric when sitting down.
