What components keep my pants warm?
To help keep you warm, we use wadding insulation (60g/m²). Depending on the size of its fibers, this polyester-based synthetic component stores a greater or lesser quantity of air, helping to insulate you from the cold.
How is the comfort temperature measured?
We test each of our products in the laboratory to give you an indicative comfort value. This is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and fleece for jackets. The measurement indicated is that of the outside temperature at which the testers felt neither hot nor cold. This feeling differs, of course, according to the intensity of the activity, but also according to each individual's metabolism.
How should I dress to keep my legs warm on the slopes?
To keep your legs warm and dry, simply layer 2 layers:
- 1 ski undergarment to wick away perspiration.
- 1 pair of ski pants to protect against the elements and provide warmth.
What is coating?
Coating consists in spreading a waterproofing material on the inside of a fabric. It prevents water from penetrating the garment, but lets the water vapor produced by the body's activity escape. This keeps you dry and comfortable during your sporting activities.
How is the waterproofness of my pants measured?
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure expressed in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This 5000mm waterproof component therefore withstands the pressure exerted by 5000mm of water.
For skiing, we recommend components ranging from 3000mm to 20000mm.
In addition, at Decathlon we test all our waterproof products in the laboratory. The rating for this product is 2/5.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my pants?
Our pants feature elasticated gaiters at the bottom of the legs which cover the boots. In the event of a fall or contact with fresh snow, the hermeticity of the gaiter prevents snow from entering.
How do I wash my pants?
To optimize the performance of your pants, we recommend:
* Machine wash at 30°, synthetic program.
* Turn inside out.
* Use very little detergent, no fabric softener. Do not use fabric softener.
* Manual spin-drying recommended.
* Hang to dry in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry-clean. Do not place on a radiator.
