How do my arctic hiking pants keep me warm?
The "synthetic fur" mesh lining ends below the knees, keeping you warm. The knees have a pocket where you can slide in removable foam pads for added comfort and insulation from the cold when you need to put your knees on the ground (to make an igloo, for example). These removable foams are supplied with the pants.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my pants?
Our pants feature elasticated gaiters at the bottom of the legs which cover the boots. In the event of a fall or contact with fresh snow, the hermeticity of the gaiter prevents snow from entering.
Why do my pants need to be tough enough for an Arctic expedition?
We know how demanding a day's trekking in the Arctic can be, and how aggressive the vegetation can be (forest in Sweden). That's why we take particular care in selecting all the components that make up our products, to guarantee the best possible resistance to abrasion.
Won't water seep through the seams? Do these pants have taped seams?
In addition to waterproof fabric, we reinforce the waterproofness of the pants with waterproof seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips affixed to the seams inside the garment to make them perfectly watertight. On these pants, we've chosen to waterproof all seams for optimum protection against the rain.
What are the water-repellent properties of my pants?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface, without absorbing it. Artic 900 pants are equipped with water-repellent components that prolong their resistance to bad weather (humidity, snow, light rain). This technical solution enables you to stay dry for longer on your practice ground. To remain effective, this treatment must be renewed regularly with products sold in our stores.
