How will these pants keep my child warm?
The inside of your pants is scratched, and the component mesh is structured to give it volume in order to trap air, a natural insulator.
We carry out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory under walking conditions with light winds (5km/h).
The comfort temperature is the air temperature calculated such that 70% of users have a "slightly warm" thermal sensation.
For these pants, it is +2.5°C.
Everyone has their own sensitivity to cold.
How do my pants protect me from the elements?
In winter, it's important to be protected from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind, as the latter cools the body enormously, both during activity and at rest. We've designed your pants with a windproof, water-repellent outer fabric to cope with all winter conditions. We've also added leg grippers to protect you from snow intrusion.
What is water repellency and how can it be preserved?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it. This means the fabric doesn't become waterlogged, and remains light, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed over the life of the garment (we recommend every wash). Products (spray or liquid) are available for this purpose in our stores.
How should I dress for winter hiking?
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend applying the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: technical undergarments allow moisture transfer to keep the skin dry.
layer 2: the second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and moisture transfer.
layer 3: the jacket protects against external conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole garment must be breathable to evacuate moisture.
Will my pants stand up to regular use over time?
We carry out tests on the chosen components: abrasion resistance, colorfastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been carried out on the component of your pants.
