A FRUIT PASTE REDESIGNED THANKS TO YOUR ADVICE
You found the old version too sticky in its packaging and, consequently, not easy to eat when exerting yourself. So, in concrete terms, how did we remedy this problem?
We added two stabilizing ingredients to our recipe:
- citric acid (already present in the old version),
- and sodium citrate obtained from lemons.
Verdict? Our 50 testers gave it a thumbs-up for both its taste and its melt-in-the-mouth texture... And non-sticky!
A LOCAL PRODUCT, JUST THE WAY WE LIKE IT
Aren't you curious to know where the fruit paste that accompanies you on your run is made? Well, if you insist! To tell you the truth, it was born in a factory in the South of France, "our partner for the last fifteen years", explains Juliette, a nutrition engineer.
The apple and pear are French, we'll tell you about them later. Sugar too. As for the other fruits, they are imported from countries in Europe or elsewhere where the climate makes their cultivation possible.
WHY IS THERE APPLE OR PEAR IN YOUR FRUIT PASTE?
That's an existential question, especially when the fragrance you've chosen is called citrus, or strawberry-cranberry. Don't worry, this isn't some strange mixture concocted by Gertrude, aka la-dame-de-la-cantine. No, apples and pears are simply the two fruits on which our recipe is based. They are chosen from the orchards of our southern supplier we mentioned earlier.
A PRODUCT DESIGNED FOR ENDURANCE EFFORTS
60g of carbohydrates (=sugars) per hour of exercise is what nutritionists recommend for efforts of over 3 hours. This 25g fruit paste contains 21g of carbohydrates, including 16g of simple sugars. We therefore recommend that you take your first bar after 30 minutes of activity, i.e. two per hour (or one + one gel/one bar), and in addition to an isotonic drink.
TOO EASY TO OPEN AND CLOSE!
Gone are the days when you tore off the plastic with your teeth (and chewed on some of it in the process...). Gone are the days when you had to choose between eating it all at once, or stuffing the rest into the limbo of your pockets.
Thanks to the adhesive strip, opening is easy and gentle. As for the closure, it protects your precious sesame until the next bite!
AND WHAT ARE ALL THESE INGREDIENTS REALLY FOR?
● Sugar and maltodextrin for energy.
● Glucose syrup for texture.
● Glycerol for texture and stability.
● Pectin for texture. It's a gelling agent used in jams and naturally present in fruit.
● Acerola powder, a super fruit, for vitamin C!
● Vitamins B1, B3, and B6 for fatigue reduction: the smile on the photos counts!
● And if not, see at A fruit paste rethought thanks to your advice.
