FGC construction: Fiber Glass Composite
Decathlon Skateboarding designed this new composite construction with 5 layers of FSC-certified Canadian maple and 2 layers of braided fiberglass, pressed with Epoxy resin.
This construction makes the board twice as resistant to breakage as a traditional 7-ply maple construction.
Lighter, the board also has more "pop" (board bounce) and lasts longer than a 100% maple board.
Because you don't always replace "8 screws".
One board per mold
Our FGC boards are hot-pressed one by one with epoxy resin. This means that each mold contains only one board per pressing pass. This ensures optimum pressure distribution and that each board of the same model has exactly the same shape, the same concave. An advantage for those who always want to ski the same shape.
FSC-labeled maple
The wood we use is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. This certification guarantees that the forest is managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring its economic viability.
How are our products tested?
Our boards are laboratory-tested. These tests are used to validate standards for skateboard use, as well as wear tests. These lab tests are supplemented by field tests, some measured, others based on the perceptions of testers, who then put the product to the test.
For this, we rely on our team of pro riders.
A board co-developed with our team riders
We worked with our professional riders to develop the DK900 range.
