What size should I choose for my Park&Ride?

In Freestyle, you can take a board that's fairly short: -20 to -25cm (for example, someone 1m74 tall can take a board between 154 and 149 cm).
Going shorter makes it easier to rotate and perform tricks. If you're taller, you'll be more stable at high speeds and on landing jumps.
The Park & Ride is a fairly short board. Size 158 Wide is ideal for taller riders.
152 cm => 1.67 to 1.77 m
153 cm MID WIDE => from 1m68 to 1m78
156cm: 1m71-1m81
158 cm WIDE => from 1m78 to 1m90

A word from the product manager

If all it took was one...

Program and practice area

As its name suggests, the Park & Ride performs equally well in park, piste and off-piste. In the park, it's particularly well-suited to jumps (tables), and you'll feel confident when you land.
Its classic camber gives it pop for jumps and stability at full speed.
Its rocker gives it maneuverability but also buoyancy on powder days.
Its Powder Stance lets you enjoy powder days like a freeride board.

Snowboard twintip directionelle

The shape of the snowboard is Twin Tip. The board's rib lines are completely symmetrical between front and back, offering perfect symmetry and centering of the board's features for riding in both directions in the same way. To give it even greater versatility, we've offset the inserts by 20mm, making the Park&Ride a "false" twintip, directional just enough to ride without getting in the way in the park.

Classic camber + rocker

We retain all the advantages of classic camber (thanks to the board's elasticity, classic camber acts like a spring to provide grip on all types of snow, dynamism in edge-to-edge transition and recovery on exit from turns) with the added benefits of rocker (under stress, the board's points of contact with the snow move closer together, making it easier to handle). The rocker lengthens and lifts the tip so that the powder flows more easily under the board.

Medium and versatile flex (6/10)

Flex is the stiffness of the board between front and rear.
The Park&Ride Board's flex is around 6/10, which is medium and versatile. It provides healthy behavior in sharp turns, as well as good tolerance to edge errors.

Medium and versatile twist (6/10)

Torsion, the stiffness of the board in torsion between the feet, is around 6/10 on the Park & Ride, which is stiff enough for good handling in curves, recovery at the end of turns and edge-to-edge nervousness. It's also soft enough to play a little freestyle. It's its medium torsion that gives the Park & Ride good all-round behavior and doesn't make it a jib board.

Setback 20 mm

Setback is when the board's support points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the center of the board, but are shifted backwards. The bindings are then also shifted backwards by the same distance.
20 mm setback = a very slight kickback, a versatile board that's almost centered for riding in both directions, but also for balance when turning in the air and on the piste.

Recommended fasteners

With SNB 500 fasteners, the board + fastener assembly will be very homogeneous in terms of level and coherent in terms of design.

When should you wax your snowboard?

Wedze boards leave the factory waxed.
They then require regular maintenance like all snowboards and skis: ideally, wax every 5 outings and at least once a year:
- either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good glide
- or at the end of the season by letting the wax protect the base throughout the summer.

Glide quality: sintered sole

The soles are made of polyethylene, but using 2 different technical processes:

- extruded sole, with a certain density of polyethylene
- sintered sole, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE)

A sintered sole is the Rolls Royce of soles. The glide is really fantastic.

What is the Wide in snowboarding?

A Wide board is a board that is wider than normal to prevent the big feet from touching the snow during a turn and causing you to fall, or to increase buoyancy in powder snow. Wide is measured by the width of the board at the center.

At Décathlon, we have defined:
- up to 245 mm : narrow board / feet 36 to 40
- from 246 mm to 255 mm : normal board / feet 38 to 42
- from 256 mm to 265 mm : Mid Wide / feet 41 to 44
- from 266 mm : Wide / feet 43 to 49

Can the store fit the bindings to my board?

Yes, there's a video on how to assemble the bindings in this product sheet, but you can always ask your local store to assemble the bindings with your own settings. Remember to take your pair of snowboard boots with you to ensure 2 correct settings:
1. That of the binding from front to back, so that the boots don't protrude more from the toes than from the heel, or vice versa
2. The straps of your binding, which must fit your boots snugly.
