We developed this board for big powder days... but not only. It's accessible to advanced to expert riders.

Perfect for powder (very wide, setback of 60 mm, very long rocker), it is also very pleasant on piste thanks to its small radius and 6/10 flex. Big feet can also carve.

What size should I choose for my Landscape?

In All Mountain/Freeride, we generally choose -15 cm (for example, someone 1m74 tall can take a board around 1m59). Smaller boards are easier to use. It's also advisable for people who are light in relation to their height. Taller boards are more stable at higher speeds.
For the LANDSCAPE, we recommend:
154 cm (50 - 70 kg) => from 1m63 to 1m73
158 cm (65 - 85 kg) => from 1m70 to 1m78
163 cm (80 - 110 kg) => 1m75 and 1m88

a word from the product manager

We completed our offer with this board with a very surfy feel. We were lucky enough to co-develop it with Franck Moissonnier (Aka Franky Moiss), who very quickly steered us towards a carving powder board.
The idea was not to make a board exclusively for powder days, but an everyday board perfect for powder. An excellent compromise between buoyancy in powder and playful carving on the piste.

Wooden top sheet

We chose a top sheet made of wood, bamboo to be precise.
It is saturated with resin to ensure good ageing. It minimizes the use of fossil fuels. It adds style and a touch of lightness, in keeping with the freeride character of the Landscape board.

Good to know about wood top sheet

As wood is a natural material, its appearance and grain will vary from one model to another. Each plank is unique.
_ Wood will also "live" with the seasons, and in places, will darken slightly. To limit this natural aging process, be sure to wipe the board clean at the end of each outing.
_ After long-term tests (between 45 and 80 days), the wood had visually and normally altered on the surface, but was still 100% usable.

Program and practice area

The Landscape is perfect on powder snow, but is also very comfortable on unprepared or hard snow.
It's also great for carving on hard slopes, and its wide side will particularly please big feet, which will be able to carve without any problem!
Despite its width, the radius of curvature is short, allowing a nice liveliness from edge to edge.
It will also be the ideal weapon for playing in the slush at the end of the season, thanks to its very "surfy" behavior.

Why is it both serious and accessible?

It's not a crowbar! Stiffness is 6/10, which makes it serious but not as stiff as the All Road 900. So it's easier to get to grips with, for advanced to expert riders.
_ Its very strong setback of 60 mm and long rocker allow you to ride on both feet, rather than with all your weight on your back leg. Even in powder, no more rear leg tetanus after 1 run!

Should I get a longer board for powder snow?

No, not with the LANDSCAPE.
Take your usual size. On piste, this won't change your life, and in powder, the board's width, 60mm setback and long rocker will do the job for you.

Directional snowboarding

The shape of the board is directional, i.e. it has a front and a back. It's not symmetrical, the rear of the board is slightly narrower than the front, and the bindings and setbacks are a little further back. A directional shape offers better grip during the turn, better control of the trajectory and more boost out of the curve.

Classic camber + rocker

We keep all the advantages of the classic camber, plus those of the rocker:
- Thanks to the board's elasticity, a classic camber acts like a spring to give grip on all types of snow, dynamism when going from edge to edge and recovery when exiting a turn.
- Under stress, the board's points of contact with the snow come closer together, making the board easier to handle. The rocker lengthens and lifts the tip so that the powder flows more easily under the board.

Medium and versatile flex (6/10)

Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and back. The flex of the LANDSCAPE is around 6/10, which is medium and versatile. It provides healthy behavior in sharp turns, but also tolerance to edge errors.

Medium and multi-purpose twist

Torsion, the stiffness of the board in torsion between the feet, is around 6/10 on the All Road 500 board, which is steep enough for good handling in curves, recovery at the end of turns and nervousness when going from edge to edge. This gives the board a confirmed to expert level, while remaining physically very accessible.

Setback 60 mm

Setback: when the board's support points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the center of the board, but are shifted backwards. The bindings are then also shifted backwards by the same distance.
60 mm: this is a very important setback for directional freeride boards. This helps to lift the board off the ground, as the weight is concentrated on the rear of the board. Naturally, the front end lifts and the powder rushes under the board. It also takes the weight off the back leg.

Recommended fasteners

1/ The Snb 500 binding is a high-performance traditional snowboard binding for exploiting the piste, carving and off-piste aspects of the LANDSCAPE. Spoiler tilt adjustment is also available.
2/ The Snb 100 binding will suit tighter budgets; it still performs well, but simply has fewer adjustment options.
3/ The Flow Nexus binding for those who want a quick, practical binding to put on.

When should you wax your snowboard?

Decathlon snowboards leave the factory waxed. They're ready to slide. Like all snowboards and skis, they require regular maintenance: ideally, they should be waxed every 5 outings, and at least once a year: - either at the start of the season, to get off to a great start - or at the end of the season, to let the wax protect the base all summer long.

Glide quality: sintered sole

The soles are made of polyethylene, but using 2 different technical processes:
- Extruded sole, with a certain density of polyethylene
- Sintered sole, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE).
A sintered sole is the Rolls Royce of soles. The glide is really fantastic.

What is the Wide in snowboarding?

A Wide board is one that's wider than normal, to prevent your big feet from touching the snow on a hard turn. From size 44 upwards, we recommend a Wide board. Wide is measured by the width of the board at the center. At Decathlon, we have defined:
_ Up to 255 mm : Normal board / feet 36 to 43
_ From 256 mm to 265 mm : Mid Wide / feet 41 to 45
_ From 266 mm : Wide / feet 43 to 49

Can the store mount the bindings on my board?

Yes, you'll find an assembly video in this product datasheet, but you can also ask your local store to assemble the bindings with your own settings. Remember to take your pair of snowboard boots with you to ensure 2 correct settings:
1. That of the binding from front to back, so that the boots don't protrude more from the toes than from the heel, or vice versa
2. The straps on your binding, which must fit snugly over your boots.

Board weight

size 153 cm: 2700 g +/- 2%
size 158 cm: 2900 g +/- 2%
size 163 cm: 3040 g +/- 2%

0% Park: can I do jumps with this board?

Yes.
0% Park simply means that the characteristics of this snowboard are not compatible with freestyle: the board isn't short, it isn't symmetrical from front to back... All freestyle moves, rotations, upside-down landing jumps, etc. are still possible, but it's really not the most suitable board.
On the other hand, on and off piste, you can do all the straight jumps you want.

STOCK TIPS

Wipe edges at the end of the day to prevent rust.
Ideally, wax every 5 outings.
Summer storage: away from the sun, bindings can be left on the board.

TESTS

All Dreamscape by Decathlon snowboard products are tested in the real-life conditions for which they were designed: in the snow, in the cold, in all the conditions you might encounter when snowboarding, whether in the pow, on the park or on the piste. Our design teams ensure that the program for which the product was conceived and developed corresponds perfectly to its use in the field.
