TECHNICAL INFORMATION

A word from the product manager

In snowboard lessons, very quickly (sometimes even at the end of the 1st week of lessons), instructors teach children to slide backwards so that they are immediately comfortable in both directions. Based on this observation, we designed this board with a Twin Tip shape (symmetrical from front to back). These children's freestyle snowboards are also the most versatile, as they are equally at home on the piste and on the slopes.

what size child's snowboard?

Children grow up, so it's complicated to choose. Just the right size will quickly become too small, but you can't go too big either, otherwise learning will be complicated, and they'll be disgusted.
Let's say that -10 cm compared to their height is a maximum in snowboard size, and -25 cm is a minimum. This 135cm board is therefore suitable for children from 1m45 (-10 cm) to 1m60 (-25 cm).

The board grows with your child

Children grow about 6 cm per year. The ideal is to keep the board for at least 2 years, then pass it on to the little brother/sister.
That's why we offer 2 possible binding positions:
- The 1st year, on the 4 inserts closest to the center of the board
- The 2nd year, on the 4 inserts furthest from the center of the board.
But you can also resell it as a used snowboard :-)

Technical information

Width Front 275 mm / Center 238 mm / Rear 275 mm
Radius 7.0 m
Effective square 1020mm
No. of inserts: 2 x 6 (2 possible positions per fastener / 40 mm between each position)
Stance recommended: 460 mm

When should you wax your snowboard?

Decathlon snowboards leave the factory waxed. Like all snowboards and skis, they require regular maintenance: ideally, they should be waxed every 5 outings and at least once a year, - either at the start of the season to get off to a great start, - or at the end of the season, leaving the wax to protect the base throughout the summer.

Glide quality: extruded sole

The soles are made of polyethylene, but using 2 different technical processes:
- extruded sole, with a certain density of polyethylene
- sintered sole, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE)
An extruded sole provides normal glide and good resistance over time.
A sintered sole is the Rolls Royce of soles. The glide is really fantastic.
