How to measure tire wear?
To measure the wear of your city bike tires and know when they need changing, you need to take an interest in the condition of the tread.
Signs of wear include:
- the tread fraying,
- a series of micro-cracks,
- the tread tending to flatten
- the carcass appearing.
These are all cases where the tire is worn and needs changing.
How to properly inflate a tire?
Inflate your tire with care. The recommended pressure is indicated on the sidewall of your tire.
Also check that your tire pressure is correct before each trip.
An under-inflated tire increases the risk of a puncture.
Pro tip
When inflating your tire, make sure you set the right pressure for the terrain you're riding on and, above all, for the weather.
If you're riding in wet weather, don't hesitate to lower the tire pressure to increase grip.
On the other hand, if you're riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure.
The more the tire is inflated, the less comfortable the bike is, but the better the performance.
